CHS Student Among Winners of Oakland County Art Contest
Lavendar Calhoun, 11th grade student – artist at Clarenceville High School, is among the winners of the Oakland County Treasurer’s 7th Annual Literacy Arts Contest. Lavender’s mixed media piece titled “The Creation of Adam’s Credit Card” will be displayed in the Oakland County Treasurer’s Office for one year and included in an online art gallery on the Treasurer’s website.

Oakland County Treasurer, Andy Meisner, partners with Flagstar Bank, Oakland Schools, and the Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency to produce the contest which this year had entries from 140 student – artists representing 11 high schools in 9 Oakland County public school districts.
The student – artists were honored at a reception and art show honoring them and their families on Wednesday, April 18 at the Flagstar Strand Theatre in downtown Pontiac where scholarship winners and contest participants were personally recognized.
