Serving as the principal of Grandview Elementary School in Clarenceville is my honor and privilege!   Grandview is known for its community spirit and pride. Leading our school with a dynamic team of professionals is an amazing experience.  In our learning environment, we focus on the wellness of the whole child--social, emotional and cognitive.   My educational passion is to be your positive servant leader.  I am a life-long learner, and I am honored to apply my learnings as your principal.

A little about me.....I was born in Ohio where I graduated from Sylvania Northview High School in Sylvania, OH.  After high school, I attended Michigan State University (GO GREEN!).  I am married to a wonderful man, Chris and we are proud parents to our fur-baby Duffy.  We live in Royal Oak, MI.  My life has taken me many places, and I can honestly say, being a Clarencville educator and leader is my dream-come-true!

As the first year principal to Grandview, my pledge is to dedicate my first year to embrace the community, learn of the rich traditions of Grandview and build on these traditions to lead our students into proud and independent community members.  I can tell you the best part of my work is the amazing people! One critical role as the school administrator is to promote the success of all students by collaborating with staff, families and community members.  By working hand-in-hand with Grandview FOG, we accomplish strong parent participation.

Thank you for being involved and being a member of our Grandview family!  I encourage you to visit this site often.  Check out what's happening, and be informed.  Consider volunteering and participating. Let's work together to accomplish our goals for the sake of your child's education!  Please know that I am sincerely interested in any ideas and suggestions you may have to promote learning and partnerships.  You are welcome to stop by any time.  My door is always open!

I am thrilled to dedicate my leadership, passion, and enthusiasm to being your principal!

Yours truly,

Melissa Carruth, Ed. S.
