Dear Grandview Community,

I am excited and honored to be principal of Grandview Elementary School. I am incredibly fortunate to be stepping into the amazing school family Mrs. Valentine, the wonderful staff, students, and families have worked so hard to create. It is evident that at Grandview, students are cared for socially, emotionally, and academically; while encouraged to grow to their highest potential. I am proud to join in and will work hard to continue the legacy of success here at Grandview.

I have been an educator for 24 years. I spent 21 years as a K-3 classroom teacher, and the last 3 years I have been an Instructional Coach. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oakland University, a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University, and an Educational Specialist in K-12 Leadership from Oakland University. (Go Grizzlies!) There’s not a day that goes by that I do not fall more in love with this profession. I truly love each and every day of school life with students, staff, and families. Being involved educationally in the lives of young children is the greatest gift! I look forward to partnering with you on this journey. I truly believe relationships are the key to success. Education is a partnership and I look forward to developing this with you, our wonderful staff, and our awesome students.

As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call, or email if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. I look forward to a fantastic school year!

In partnership,

Mrs. Michelle L. Barsh, Principal
