Joseph S. Schiffman

It has been my great pleasure to have served the Clarenceville school district for over 30 years as a substitute teacher, fifth grade teacher and as principal for the last 20 years. My roots run deep as I grew up in the district and graduated from Clarenceville High School in 1975. I even did my student teacher training here at Botsford. When I find a very good thing I don’t like to let go.

My wife Karen and I live in Livonia and were blessed to have three sons, Andrew, Thomas and Robert. Karen is the Human Resource Director at a local senior living community.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. The truth is my most meaningful education is the one I receive daily working with the children, parents and staff here at Botsford.  I can honestly say I learn something new every day.

All of us here at Botsford strive to create a welcoming atmosphere for all our students and families. We are a student centered school. The needs of our children are paramount in each and every decision that is made.

I have an open door policy so please feel free to stop by and see me. If you come at lunch you will find me on the playground with the children. I can always use an extra kickball player!
